AVID is an acronym that stands for: Advancement Via Individual Determination.  The AVID program is designed for students who are interested in attending college.  AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

The AVID program teaches academic survival skills in a daily elective period.  AVID strategies and methodologies are taught and implemented.  Students will develop skills in Cornell Notes, studying, collaborative learning, and organization.  Students will be strengthening their writing, inquiry, and critical thinking skills through the AVID curriculum.  The curriculum is based upon WICR - Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration and Reading.
