School News
“Steps for Haiti” is still going on. Stop by the donation table during lunch to drop off your old shoes or change. Our last day of collection will be tomorrow. Thanks to everyone who have given donations so far. [2/9]
Tomorrow is the Leadership meetings for potential leaders. Period 1 is for Hornets and Aggies and Period 2 is for Bears and Tigers. Please check in with your teacher and then report immediately to the cafeteria. [2/9]
Today is “Plaid Day” so we hope to see everyone out in their favorite plaid today. Don’t forget tomorrow is “School Colors Day”. I am sure all of the potential leaders for next year will be wearing school colors tomorrow. See you then! [2/9]
Thursday is “Fake an Injury Day”. Remember all dress code rules apply and no wheelchairs or crutches are allowed. See you at lunch games. We will have a “best fake injury contest” during lunch. See you there! [2/9 – 2/11]
Celebrate Valentines Day by wearing red, white and pink on Friday. We will also be selling friendship grams at lunch all week so stop by and purchase one this week.

The last and best dance of the year is almost here! Neon Blackout is the theme and it’s going to be incredible so don’t miss it. We will be using the Term 3 discipline list so if you haven’t been in trouble this term you should be allowed to attend. It’s a black light dance so wear your fluorescent clothes and white wear. Tickets go on sale next week and as always the cost is $5 with an ASB sticker, $6 without a sticker and $7 the day of the dance. [2/9 – 2/12]
The Academic Pep Rally is next week. You can buy your “Thunder Sticks” and team tattoos on February 16th AND 17th. [2/9 – 2/12]

During the month of February, the Franklin High School counseling department will be hosting two course selection nights for incoming 9th grade students in our multi-purpose room. These course selection nights are the only opportunity for students and parents to work together on campus to select courses for the 2010-2011 school year. The dates are as follows: Incoming 9th grade students (last name A-M): Tuesday, February 23rd 6:30-8:00 pm* and Incoming 9th grades students (last name N-Z) Thursday, February 25th 6:30-8:00 pm* *Please note-We separate the incoming 9th grade meetings by last name to accommodate all parents and students comfortably. Your date of meeting does NOT impact the courses you select or the availability of courses. We ask that you please attend on your assigned night as best as possible. Please bring a pen or pencil to complete the course selection form. We ask that you please stay for the entire presentation-important information may be missed by leaving early. [2/9 – 2/25]

Some areas are; cartooning, web design, cooking like a pro, robotics and much more. Sign up to take the test on March 3rd at 8:00 am here at TJMS. The cost is $15.00.
